Building Homes, Not Houses

Who We Are

Fernie Homes is a family-run property developer on the North Norfolk coast, bringing traditional values to modern building.

What We Do

We develop small sites of two to four houses and build individual homes that are tailored to the site and the surrounding area.

How We Work

We’re a little different to your average developer, valuing quality craftsmanship and integrity over everything else.

Stanhoe Road, Docking, Norfolk

Located in the charming Norfolk village of Docking, just five miles from both Burnham Market and Brancaster Staithe, Kingsdown Cottages have been designed by renowned local architect, Jason Law. The Fernie Difference

All Inclusive

All our homes come fully equipped with premium fixtures and fittings; Perrin & Rowe, Miele and Fisher & Paykel in the kitchens, Burlington and Grohe in the bathrooms. These features come as standard and are included in the price.

It's All in the Detail

All our properties are fitted with an external warm water feed, perfect for washing off sandy toes and muddy paws.

The Art of Craftsmanship

We deliver quality at every stage of a build, from thoughtful planning to the foundations and right through to the finishing touches. Whether it’s the individually crafted plinth blocks on doorways or the ambient lighting systems throughout.

Planning for the Future

We install a 7kW electrical supply to the front of all of our properties, ready to support electric car charging points.

North Norfolk

Coastal Living at its Finest

North Norfolk is famed for its miles of rugged sandy beaches, big skies, quaint coastal villages and fabulous foodie scene.

From meandering around the stylish boutiques of Burnham Market and sailing at Brancaster Staithe to spotting seals at Blakeney, golfing in Hunstanton and discovering the historic Holkham estate, there is so much to explore in this region. Not to mention the stunning coastline which features the 83-mile long Norfolk Coast path, stretching right through the North Norfolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. And then there’s the food. Think artisanal bakeries, independent delis and farm shops, and a selection of sensational gastro-pubs and restaurants.

What's in a Name?

In 2017 we began building ourselves a new family home – the eponymous Fernie Cottage. During this project we caught the development bug and decided to start building homes using the same care, attention to detail, quality local materials and traditional craftsmanship that we did when building for ourselves. And so Fernie Homes was officially born!
